Forthcoming malaria awareness initiatives throughout 2010
The Malaria Awareness Campaign is now in its sixth year and is designed to encourage travellers visiting malarious countries to be aware of the dangers of contracting the disease and to take pre-travel health advice.
The disease affects approximately 1,800 UK travellers
each year and results in an average of nine deaths per year.1 The campaign is supported by celebrities such as Simon Reeve, Rageh Omaar, Bear Grylls and John Craven all of whom have first hand experience of malaria.
