Last Minute
If you are about to travel to a malaria hotspot and haven't taken precautions, it's not too late – but you have to act quickly.
- See a healthcare professional for malaria advice.
- Check with them for the best ways of avoiding mosquito bites to increase protection, and for any anti-malaria pills which may be required.
- Buy a DEET based insect repellent containing 20-50% DEET. (DEET is suitable from 2 months of age unless allergic.)
- Remember to take any recommended antimalarials before you travel, whilst you are away and on your return as advised by your healthcare professional.
